To Burgas (centre and station)
The simplest case: it is about 10 km from the airport to the centre, and this is the cheapest option.
Bus
Bus No. 15 from the stop by the terminal to South bus station next to the central railway station, about 25–30 minutes. It does not run at night. Pay the driver or in the carrier’s app; timetable and fare at burgasbus.info ↗: sources give from €0.80 to €1.50.
Taxi
About €8–14 to the centre by meter (an estimate from guidebooks). Agree on the price or ask the driver to switch on the meter before you get in.
Best choice
Bus in the daytime, taxi with suitcases or at night. You need South station if you are going on to the resorts.
To Sarafovo
Sarafovo is a district of Burgas by the sea, the closest to the airport.
Taxi
The fastest option, a few minutes. We did not check the meter price: ask the driver or book a transfer at a fixed price.

Tip
If you are staying in Sarafovo, ask your hosts in advance about a meeting or the exact address for the taxi.

Bus
On the road: No. 15 to South station 25–30 minutes, then the Nessebar bus 50–70 minutes. Change and waiting: about 10 minutes to walk to the bus station plus the wait for the next departure, which depends on your arrival time (24 departures a day from 6:10 to 22:05 according to a source). In total from 1.5 hours without waiting. A ticket to Nessebar is about €3–4 per person. Check the timetable at the ticket office.
Best choice
A transfer costs more than buses (for a group of 3–4 the buses come to about €11–22, the transfer from €40), but with no change and door to door; the price can be shared. The old town is closed to cars, the driver will drop you at the entrance.
