Spirit of Burgas
A three-day music festival in mid-August on the Central beach. Past editions ran on 12–14 and 13–15 August. Check the organisers for your year.

Late August, held since 1965.
“Apollonia” arts festival
Sozopol, early September. Check the programme and dates with the organisers: we found no confirmation for 2026.
St Nicholas Day
6 December, the feast of the city’s patron saint and of fishermen. In past years the city’s Christmas tree lights were switched on in the square that day, with a festive concert and fish kurban handed out at several points. Check the municipality’s site for this year’s programme.
WDSF Burgas Cup
A dance sport competition held in December.

Sand sculptures
The festival has run every summer since 2008. The sand sculptures are displayed in Ezeroto park in the Sea Garden.
Where
Ezeroto (“The Lake”) park in the Sea Garden of Burgas. The organiser is Burgas Municipality.
When
The festival opens in early summer. In 2024, the 17th in a row, it opened on 5 July and the sculptures stayed until the end of September. According to the city programme for 2026 it runs from early July to the end of August.
Theme
Each edition has its own theme. In 2024 it was “In the World of the Circus”. Check the city website for the theme of your year.
Entry and hours
Entry by ticket. In earlier years the exhibition was open daily from 9:00 to 21:00. Check hours and prices for the current year with the organisers.
