Parking: blue and green zones
Parking in central Burgas is paid. There are two zones: blue, and green, which is split into five subzones. You can pay by SMS, at a machine or in an app.
Blue zone
Per the official site: Monday to Friday, 9:00–19:00, €1 per hour (BGN 1.96) incl. VAT. See the zone map on the Transport Burgas site for the streets.
Green zone
Summer (1 May – 30 September) every day 11:00–20:00; winter (1 October – 30 April) Monday to Friday 9:00–19:00. €1 per hour, 30 minutes €0.50. No charge on public holidays.
How to pay
SMS to 1356 (blue) or 1357 (green) with your plate in Latin letters: one SMS, one hour. It only works with Bulgarian mobile operators. Foreign visitors: use a Presto 600 machine or the Mpark, PayPark or UrboCity apps.
Fines
A wheel clamp in the green zone costs €15; towing €28.22–€36.81 excl. VAT depending on the area. A typo in your plate means paying again.
Residents and permits
Residents buy a yearly sticker, and people with permanent disabilities get a personal sticker and reserved bays. Tourists do not need these.
About the price
News reported a rise to 2 BGN per hour that a court later cancelled. Official pages now say €1. Check the signs at the machine.
Zone borders on maps are approximate. Some sources predate the euro: rely on the official Transport Burgas site and on-street signs.
